The South Korean boy group Super Junior recently wrapped up their Asia tour with the “Super Show Spin-Off: Halftime” concert in Jakarta. The event took place at the Beach City International Stadium in Ancol on Saturday, September 14, 2024, and was promoted by IME Indonesia.

The concert kicked off at 3:00 PM WIB with a spectacular performance of “Show Time” followed by “Dancing Out.” The enthusiastic cheers and unified screams from Indonesian ELF (Ever Lasting Friends) were a testament to their excitement.

Introducing Themselves with Indonesian Names Chosen by Fans
Super Junior also introduced themselves using Indonesian names. Donghae was named Dimas, and Leeteuk was called Kadir. Leeteuk humorously emphasized the ‘R’ in his name and even jokingly wanted to change his name to “Goreng” to match Indonesian dishes like fried rice and fried noodles, eventually settling on “Cinta.”
A Full Member Solo Performance Surprise
Super Junior gave Indonesian ELF a special treat by having all members perform solo songs. Yesung sang “It Has to Be You,” Kyuhyun performed “At Gwanghwamun,” and Ryeowook delivered “The Little Prince.” This rare joint performance of solo songs was a touching moment for fans.
Hilarious VCR Moments
The VCR segments were a highlight, featuring a humorous “What If” theme where Super Junior reenacted a backstage argument. The VCR included cameos from stars like Kang Hodong, Lee Soo Geun, and Minho of SHINee. The final VCR showed Heechul reminding fans not to forget him, even though he is currently on hiatus.
Covering Songs by RIIZE and NewJeans
In a special performance, Super Junior covered RIIZE’s “Get a Guitar” and danced to NewJeans’ “Hype Boy,” adding an exciting twist to their setlist.
Bruno Mars’ Concert Clash
On the same night, Bruno Mars was performing at a nearby venue, JIS. Leeteuk mentioned this during the concert, noting that Bruno Mars had wanted to attend Super Junior’s show but couldn’t due to the scheduling conflict.

Throughout the concert, ELF was amazed by the impressive lighting and stage performances. The quality of the members’ vocals and dance routines, along with the stunning light show, captivated the audience.

The concert also served as a platform for promoting upcoming solo albums. Eunhyuk and Donghae mentioned their mini-album set to release on September 25, while Yesung talked about his solo album. Eunhyuk and Donghae’s solo concert is scheduled to coincide with Shindong’s birthday.
Jakarta: The Tour’s Final Stop
After several songs, Leeteuk praised Indonesian ELF for their enthusiastic participation. He declared Jakarta as the best stop of the tour, appreciating the energy and support from the fans.
Spoilers for the 20th Anniversary Concert
Super Junior members hinted at their 20th-anniversary concert, planned for 2025. Eunhyuk mentioned that the concert might feature more songs and a longer duration than the SM Town 2023 concert. Members including Siwon, Ryeowook, Yesung, and Leeteuk encouraged ELF to attend the event next year, hinting that Jakarta might be one of the cities they visit again.
After the concert, a video showed Heechul greeting fans and reminding them not to forget him, as he is currently taking a break and was unable to join the Asia Tour.
