Since introducing the ScreenX format from CJ 4DPlex of South Korea to Indonesia in 2017, CGV Cinemas has now officially opened the second largest ScreenX auditorium in the world, located at CGV Grand Indonesia, 8th floor, auditorium 1. With optimized features and a capacity of up to 460 viewers, ScreenX allows visitors to enjoy movies in an immersive panoramic 270-degree screen format that stretches from the front to the right and left sides of the auditorium (with a total screen size of 72.4 x 11m), supported by a 4K laser projector and silver screen for an enhanced viewing experience.
In addition to offering stunning visuals, the ScreenX auditorium is also equipped with Dolby Atmos technology, delivering the highest quality audio. This technology produces sound that is detailed, clear, and dynamically moves across the entire auditorium. With over 60 speakers placed in every corner, including the ceiling, viewers are invited to experience an immersive audio sensation that makes each scene in the film feel more real.
Combining Technology and Comfort in One Auditorium
The ScreenX auditorium 1 at CGV Grand Indonesia is the first CGV auditorium to combine the sophistication of large-format screens, top-tier audio, and premium comfort. Viewers can choose from various types of seating options based on preference, ranging from Regular seats, ergonomic Satin seats, to Gold Class with reclining features for maximum comfort. With its spacious capacity and a stage at the front, along with stunning lighting, the ScreenX auditorium becomes the ideal choice for creative activities, meetings, or special events.

The screening of the latest film from Universal Pictures Indonesia, Wicked, in ScreenX format added to the excitement of the opening event. “We are very happy that one of our films, Wicked, could be the opening film for the ScreenX launch at CGV Grand Indonesia tonight. We’re excited to welcome many more ScreenX content from Universal Studios next year to entertain movie lovers,” said Julius Daniel Suhakri, Head of Marketing at Universal Pictures Indonesia.
Popular films such as Kraven the Hunter, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will also be featured in the ScreenX lineup as we approach the end of the year.
