Zara Leola Introduces the Song “Hilang Tapi Ada” as the Soundtrack for the Viu Series Saudade

Artist Zara Leola contributes a new song titled “Hilang Tapi Ada” to the soundtrack of the Viu series Saudade. The song tells the story of a woman who is uncertain when a man expresses interest in her. “This song is relatable not only for teenagers or young adults but also for older people. It shows that choosing someone requires a lot of thought,” said Zara at Senayan Park, Central Jakarta, on Monday (March 3, 2025).

Zara revealed that her father, Enda from the band Ungu, fully supports her involvement in this project. In fact, she asked for her father’s opinion about the song.

“My dad supports me a lot. He asked, ‘How’s the soundtrack? Is it good?’ I played it for him, and he said it was good. It fits my voice,” Zara shared. However, Enda didn’t give any specific feedback on the song.

According to Zara, her father allows her the freedom to create because he believes that she is now an adult and knows what she wants to do. “Dad feels this is my job, and I’m growing up. I know what I want to do, and as long as he supports me, that’s important. If something’s not good, then he’ll step in,” Zara explained. “But I’m happy because we’re both artists who need our privacy. Sometimes we don’t need feedback, but we need our own perspective.”

Zara also mentioned that the process of creating this song was quite short, taking only one week. “The process was really quick—just one week,” she said. She also expressed her happiness in working with people who were patient in completing the song on time, especially because she had planned a holiday to Bali when Viu asked her to create the song.

“It was a full week, and I was really working on it. I’m also happy because I collaborated with good people who were patient with me,” Zara added.

Zara had the opportunity to introduce the song to the audience before the gala premiere of the Saudade series, adapted from the best-selling novel by Aci Asri, held in Senayan, Jakarta. She shared that the song is about a girl’s internal conflict when she faces a man’s affection, and her uncertainty about her own feelings.

She added that the song isn’t just relevant for young people, but also for adults looking for a life partner. “Actually, this song, in my opinion, is not only relatable to teens, but also to older, more established people. They can understand that choosing someone requires a lot of thought,” Zara explained.

Zara hopes that her song “Hilang Tapi Ada” will be well received by listeners and resonate with those who are experiencing uncertainty in choosing a life partner.

Zara Leola is a young Indonesian singer and actress, born on August 16, 2006. She is the daughter of Enda, the guitarist of the band Ungu.
