Walid Returns! Season 2 Introduces a More Manipulative and Dangerous Figure Olla Ramlan Opens Up About the Challenging Filming Process

Jakarta, February 27, 2026 Viu Original Walid: Heaven’s Reign, the continuation of last year’s viral series Bidaah, officially premiered yesterday (February 26, 2026) on Viu. The first episode immediately opens with a tense situation: Walid is on the run from the police!

He is not alone. Someone helps Walid escape arrest before eventually taking him to a remote inland area. His followers believe the location to be a safe haven, difficult for authorities to reach and considered the last line of protection for their leader.

Walid’s absence from the Jemaah Jihad Ummah quickly raises major questions. The figure who has long been at the center of decision-making is no longer at the forefront. Who will control the group while its leader is in hiding?

Olla Ramlan Expresses Her Pride

At the premiere screening event in Jakarta yesterday (February 26, 2026), Connie Agustin, Deputy Manager of Content Acquisition at Viu, revealed:“In the first season, the story focused heavily on Walid and his group. However, seeing the extraordinary response from viewers, the Viu Malaysia team felt there was room to broaden the perspective and bring the conflict to a deeper level. In the second season, the team introduces a new character who is even more manipulative and more dangerous, causing the power dynamics to evolve in unexpected ways.”

Connie hopes this fictional work will not only entertain but also serve as a reflection on how unchecked power can lead to serious and dangerous consequences. She added:“This series also encourages viewers to think critically and not be easily swayed by any claims or authority figures. We hope it can become a medium for healthy discussion, while also reminding us of the importance of protecting society from all forms of exploitation disguised as spirituality.”

Viu Original Walid: Heaven’s Reign becomes even more special with the appearance of Olla Ramlan, who plays a crucial character. Olla admitted she was very enthusiastic when she received the offer from Viu.“I had just finished a drama from Viu, Secret High School, and then I was offered this series. At that time, I wasn’t immediately told whether I would play one of Walid’s wives or another character, so I was still wondering. But I was excited because I knew the public response to Bidaah had been extraordinary,” Olla said at the same event.

Playing Raras Kartika, Olla underwent a 20-day filming process filled with mixed emotions.“There was a filming location in the Perak area of Malaysia, deep in the forest, and I had to walk about 70 meters to reach the bathroom shared with the crew. There were no VIP facilities, so everyone had to queue. We always filmed in the morning, and it was very cold there, with no hot water in the bathroom. I even had a scene where I had to bathe in a waterfall for quite a while while delivering dialogue and ensuring the audio quality with the crew,” she explained.

The lodge where she stayed had wooden walls with gaps that allowed insects to enter.“The mosquitoes were overwhelming, and the insects made me scared and unable to sleep. I felt pressured and even cried,” Olla concluded.

However, she admitted she was proud to be part of the project.“Thank you to Viu Indonesia and Viu Malaysia for this incredible opportunity,” she said.

The Power Struggle Begins

The first week of Walid: Heaven’s Reign also shows Walid overshadowed by a figure who is bigger and more influential. Tension intensifies as cracks begin to form within his inner circle, while his followers show signs of division.

This season promises to reveal the fragile side behind a figure who once seemed unshakable.

What will happen to Walid, his wives, and his followers? Watch Walid: Heaven’s Reign, airing every Thursday and Friday on Viu.
