Jakarta: Indonesia Comic Con (ICC) is celebrating a major milestone this year as it marks its 10th anniversary with the theme “A Decade of Pop Culture Fiesta.”

To celebrate a decade of bringing fans, creators, and industry players together, ICC is preparing an even bigger and more diverse pop culture experience on October 3–4, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The 10th-anniversary celebration was announced during a press conference held at @america, Pacific Place Jakarta, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

A Decade of Growing Indonesia’s Pop Culture Scene

Lulu Anwar, Project Manager of Indonesia Comic Con, said the event’s 10-year journey represents more than simply a decade of organizing a pop culture festival.“10 years of Indonesia Comic Con is not just about 10 years of an event, but also about 10 years of growing together with Indonesia’s pop culture ecosystem,” Lulu said.

Over the past decade, ICC has evolved into a meeting point for fans, creators, communities, brands, associations, and industry professionals who share a passion for pop culture.

For its 10th edition, the organizers aim to take that journey even further by expanding programs, partnerships, and opportunities for collaboration.

“Rather, this is a momentum for us to continue building and collaborating, while helping Indonesia’s pop culture ecosystem grow even further,” Lulu added.

From Comics and Toys to Games and Cosplay

Visitors to ICC 2026 can expect a packed lineup covering a wide range of pop culture interests.

The event will feature programs and activities spanning comics, toys, movies, games, cosplay, collectibles, community activities, and creator-focused experiences.

One of the biggest highlights is the appearance of Japanese actor Mackenyu as the event’s main guest.

International audiences may recognize Mackenyu from his roles as Roronoa Zoro in One Piece, Enishi in Rurouni Kenshin, and Pegasus Seiya in Knights of the Zodiac.

His appearance is expected to add an international star power to this year’s 10th-anniversary celebration.

Cosplay Takes Center Stage

Cosplay will once again be an important part of Indonesia Comic Con.

This year’s event will feature ICGB, the national preliminary competition for the World Cosplay Summit, alongside the Raya Championship of Cosplay, a competition that has been part of ICC since 2015.

The competitions will bring together cosplay talents from Indonesia and abroad, giving participants an opportunity to showcase their creativity, craftsmanship, and performances on a larger stage.

For cosplay enthusiasts, the competitions are set to be one of the key attractions throughout the two-day festival.

Spotlight on Indonesian Comic Creators

ICC 2026 will also put a strong focus on comic artists.

The event is set to feature 12 Indonesian comic artists, along with six comic artists from Hong Kong and six from Malaysia.

The international lineup is expected to create opportunities for artists and fans to exchange ideas while highlighting the diversity of comic culture across the region.

The initiative also reflects ICC’s broader goal of giving local creators a platform where their work can connect with audiences beyond Indonesia.

Connecting Creators with the Wider Creative Industry

Another highlight of this year’s event is ICC’s collaboration with Jakarta Futura Konektiva, a program under Jakarta’s Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.

The collaboration aims to connect creators and communities with businesses and industry players from other sectors, creating opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations.

Andita, one of the organizers, emphasized the importance of keeping ICC both enjoyable for visitors and meaningful for creators.“We want Indonesia Comic Con to remain a fun place to visit, while also becoming a place where the work of Indonesian creators can stand alongside works from anywhere in the world,” Andita said.

More Than Just a Pop Culture Festival

As Indonesia Comic Con reaches its 10-year milestone, the organizers hope the event can become more than an annual gathering for pop culture fans.

The anniversary is also being positioned as an opportunity to create new collaborations, business partnerships, and opportunities for Indonesian creators.

From international guests and cosplay competitions to comic artists and community activities, ICC 2026 aims to bring different parts of the pop culture ecosystem together under one roof.

With its 10th anniversary theme, “A Decade of Pop Culture Fiesta,” Indonesia Comic Con is set to celebrate not only how far the event has come, but also the people and communities that have helped shape Indonesia’s growing pop culture landscape.
