TRUST Orchestra Brings K-Pop to the Symphony Stage for the First Time

With “Into the New World: Symphonic Reimagination of K-Pop,” TRUST Orchestra invites audiences to rediscover their favorite K-Pop hits through the grandeur and expressive power of orchestral music.

JAKARTA, October 2026 — K-Pop has captivated audiences around the world with its infectious melodies, dynamic rhythms, and unmistakable energy. But what happens when these familiar sounds meet the rich textures of a symphony orchestra?

For the first time, Trinity Youth Symphony Orchestra (TRUST Orchestra) is bringing K-Pop into the orchestral world through “Into the New World: Symphonic Reimagination of K-Pop,” a special concert taking place on November 7–8, 2026, at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta.

The concert offers a fresh perspective on the music that has become a global phenomenon, transforming beloved K-Pop songs into symphonic arrangements while preserving the distinctive character and energy that make them so memorable.

A New Journey Through the World of K-Pop

The title Into the New World carries a special meaning for K-Pop fans. It references the iconic 2007 debut single by Girls’ Generation, also known as SNSD, a song that has become an important part of the group’s musical legacy and K-Pop history.

By choosing a title that resonates with generations of K-Pop listeners, TRUST Orchestra sets the tone for a musical journey that celebrates familiarity while embracing new possibilities.

Under the baton of conductor Dr. Nathania Karina, the orchestra will explore how the vibrant musical identity of Korean pop can be reimagined through the expressive possibilities of orchestral instruments.

This is more than simply giving popular songs a grander sound. Translating K-Pop into a symphonic format requires a thoughtful approach to melody, rhythm, dynamics, and musical expression. The challenge lies in preserving the essence of each song while introducing new layers of depth, texture, and emotion.

“What’s fascinating about K-Pop is that every song has its own distinctive character and energy. When performed in an orchestral format, there are so many possibilities to explore. The challenge is to introduce new colors without losing the qualities that make these songs so loved. We hope audiences can rediscover the music they already know from a different perspective and experience something musically refreshing that they may not have encountered before,” said Dr. Nathania Karina.

Making Orchestral Music More Accessible to Everyone

Beyond its musical exploration, Into the New World: Symphonic Reimagination of K-Pop also reflects TRUST Orchestra’s ongoing mission to make orchestral music more accessible and welcoming to a wider audience.

For K-Pop fans, the concert offers an opportunity to reconnect with their favorite songs through an entirely different musical interpretation. Meanwhile, for those who may not be familiar with orchestral performances, recognizable melodies can serve as an inviting introduction to the world of symphonic music.

This approach embodies TRUST Orchestra’s guiding spirit, “Orchestra for Everyone.” Through diverse repertoires and creative musical experiences, TRUST continues to break down the barriers often associated with classical music and demonstrate that orchestral performances can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of musical background or preference.

By bringing together the global appeal of Korean pop and the rich soundscape of a symphony orchestra, TRUST Orchestra hopes to create an experience that goes beyond musical genres and brings different audiences together.

With “Into the New World: Symphonic Reimagination of K-Pop,” familiar songs take on a new dimension, inviting audiences to hear the music they love in an entirely different way.
