In a historic musical collaboration, nine iconic Indonesian guitarists will share one stage for an extraordinary celebration of the country’s rock legacy, opening for Guns N’ Roses at Indonesia Arena on November 21, 2026.

JAKARTA — Indonesian rock history is about to make some noise! For the first time, nine legendary guitarists from different generations and musical backgrounds will come together in one spectacular performance titled DEWA GITAR.

Organized by Rajawali Indonesia, this special project brings together some of the country’s most influential guitar heroes: Ian Antono (Godbless and Gong 2000), Eet Sjahranie (Edane), John Paul Ivan (Boomerang), Dewa Budjana (GIGI), Totok Tewel (Elpamas), Edi Kemput (Grass Rock), Pay Burman (Slank and BIP), Azis MS (Jamrud), and Rhoma Irama (Soneta).

Adding to the excitement, the performance will take place as a special opening act for Guns N’ Roses’ World Tour Jakarta 2026, scheduled for November 21 at Indonesia Arena.

A Historic Meeting of Indonesian Rock Icons

9 DEWA GITAR is more than a musical collaboration. It is a celebration of the guitarists who have helped shape Indonesia’s music scene across generations.

The project will also feature an outstanding lineup of supporting musicians, including drummer Rere Reza (Grass Rock), bassist Shadu Rasjidi (DeadSquad and Infernal Lamentations), and keyboardist Rio Ricardo.

The performance will be further energized by three legendary Indonesian rock vocalists: Roy Jeconiah (Boomerang), Achmad Albar (Godbless), and Krisyanto (Jamrud).

Together, these musicians promise a powerful musical experience that brings different eras, styles, and influences of Indonesian rock into one extraordinary show.

A Tribute to Music History and Guns N’ Roses

The idea behind DEWA GITAR came from Anas Alimi, Founder of Rajawali Indonesia, while selecting Indonesian musicians for the opening performance of Guns N’ Roses.

Rather than choosing a single act, he envisioned bringing together nine legendary guitarists and giving them the freedom to create their own musical combinations.

“I came up with the idea of DEWA GITAR while selecting and curating Indonesian musicians for the opening act. There were so many possibilities, so I decided to bring together nine legendary guitarists from Indonesia’s music industry. I gave them the freedom to choose their own song combinations so that the performance would genuinely reflect what they created together during rehearsals,” Anas explained.

The collaboration also carries special historical significance. These nine guitar masters built their musical careers during the golden era of Indonesian rock, growing alongside the global rise of Guns N’ Roses throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Now, they will take the stage not only to celebrate their own musical journeys but also to welcome one of the world’s most iconic rock bands to Jakarta.
