Seni Memahami Kekasih is a movie adaptation of the novel An Art to Understand Lovers by Agus “Magelangan” Mulyadi. Directed by Jeihan Angga, Seni Memahami Kekasih tells the love story of Agus Mulyadi and Kalis Mardiasih, a woman writer and activist. The movie is set in Yogyakarta and its surroundings. The language used is mostly Javanese.
Seni Memahami Kekasih stars Febby Rastanty, Elang El Gibran, Agus Mulyadi, Kalis Mardiasih, Fiersa Besari, Devina Aureel, Sisca Saras, Desy Genoveva, Inayma, Benidictus Siregar, Yusril Fahriza, Omar Jordan, Rezca Syam, and Ruth Marini.
Kalis Mardiasih, Agus Mulyadi’s wife, had her doubts, but she was finally convinced by Susanti Dewi, Head of IDN Pictures and producer of Art of Understanding Beloved.
“We are very excited to work on Seni Memahami Kekasih because the love story featured is very close to the daily lives of Indonesian people. This movie tells a relatable story, and we are sure it will touch the hearts of many people,” said Santi.
Winston Utomo, CEO of IDN, expressed his enthusiasm for the movie project based on the novel An Art to Understand Lovers, calling it a very relatable project.
