The American rock band Hoobastank opened The Script’s Satellite World Tour concert at ICE, BSD, Tangerang, on Friday, February 14, 2025. As the opening act, Hoobastank performed energetically to ignite the enthusiasm of the thousands of fans filling the venue.
Known for several hit songs, the band kicked off their set with My Turn, greeted by cheers from the audience. Lead vocalist Doug Robb immediately energized the crowd with his spirited greeting.
“Hello Jakarta! Let’s have some fun tonight!” he shouted from the stage.
Hoobastank’s main task that night was clear—to warm up the atmosphere before The Script took the stage. Without wasting any time, they continued with several of their signature songs like Born to Lead, Running Away, and If I Were You, playing them in rotation.
Not only did they sing, but Doug Robb also actively interacted with the audience, who seemed to enjoy every beat of the music. At one point, the vocalist even stepped down from the stage to greet fans at the edge of the stage, creating a more intimate atmosphere. The peak of the euphoria came when the intro to The Reason began to play. Doug invited the entire crowd to create a sea of lights.
“You all must have your phones, right? Raise your phones and turn on the flashlight,” he requested.
The request was immediately met with excitement. In an instant, thousands of phone lights illuminated the venue, creating a magical atmosphere that accompanied the meaningful lyrics of the song.
After completing their set, Doug greeted the audience once more.
“One more question. Are you ready for The Script?” he asked, which was met with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
To close their performance, Hoobastank said their goodbyes by taking a photo with the fans. The audience had to wait a little longer before The Script took over the stage.
