BoA has canceled her solo concert in Jakarta, Indonesia, this year. The concert titled “BoA Live Tour – BoA: One’s Own” was officially announced as canceled on Tuesday (October 15), less than two weeks before it was set to take place.
The concert was originally scheduled for October 26 at the Basket Hall GBK Senayan in Jakarta. However, Dyandra Global, the promoter, announced the cancellation of the soloist’s concert.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of BoA Live Tour – BoA: One’s Own in Jakarta,” the promoter stated on social media without providing specific details about the situation.
In the written announcement, they assured all fans holding tickets will receive a refund. Details regarding the concert ticket refunds will be communicated via email.
The concert in Jakarta was part of BoA’s tour across several locations in Asia. She kicked off the concert tour at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul on October 12, 2024.
The One’s Own concert tour coincides with the celebration of BoA’s 24th debut anniversary this year. She is known as one of the most influential idols in the industry, earning the title Queen of K-pop.
This popularity and influence stem from BoA’s long career, having debuted in 2000. The singer, whose full name is Kwon Bo-ah, was launched by SM Entertainment as a solo artist.
Throughout her career in the K-pop industry, as well as in Japan and the international music scene, BoA has achieved numerous impressive milestones.
She has released at least 20 studio albums, including 10 Korean albums, 9 Japanese albums, and 1 English-language album. These albums have produced several hit songs, such as “Valenti,” “Double,” “Everlasting,” and “Only One.”
BoA has also frequently appeared as a mentor on talent competition shows, such as K-pop Star (2011-2013), the second season of Produce 101 (2017), and the third season of The Voice of Korea (2020).
The solo artist has sold over 10 million albums throughout her career. She is also one of three female artists to have six consecutive number one studio albums on the Oricon Album Chart since her debut, alongside Ayumi Hamasaki and Hikaru Utada.
