Indonesian Member Becomes Key Reason LaLaLa Fest Invited Hearts2Hearts to Perform

Hearts2Hearts, SM Entertainment’s newest girl group, is officially confirmed to perform at LaLaLa Fest 2025, set to take place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on August 24, 2025.

Behind the inclusion of this rising K-pop act lies an interesting backstory from the festival’s organizers. The story was shared directly by Carmel Puma, founder of LaLaLa Fest, during a media interview in the MH Thamrin area of Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.“Actually, we knew about them even before their debut. SM had already informed us — they showed us the group’s portfolio and said, ‘There’s this new girl group coming.’ We thought, ‘They might be a good fit for the festival.’ And then after they debuted, they blew up! So we were like, thank you, SM!” — said Carmel Puma.

Carmel shared that communication between LaLaLa Fest and SM Entertainment had been established long before the group’s debut. In fact, SM had proactively offered Hearts2Hearts to the festival organizers.“Yes, we reached out to SM first. We’ve maintained a good relationship with their agency, and they suddenly offered this girl group to us,” Carmel explained.

“There were actually many options, but for some reason, we chose Hearts2Hearts — we just believed in them.”

One of the key reasons for selecting Hearts2Hearts was the presence of Carmen, one of the group’s members, who is of Indonesian descent.“One of the reasons we chose Hearts2Hearts is because they have an Indonesian member. There’s a bit of a nationalistic feeling to it,” Carmel added.

LaLaLa Fest 2025: A Global Music Celebration

LaLaLa Fest 2025 is scheduled to run for three days, from August 22 to 24, and is set to be one of Indonesia’s largest music festivals, bringing together top artists from around the world.

Some of the confirmed performers include:
Camila Cabello, LANY, The Rose, Black Eyed Peas, Keshi, JVKE, MEW, Tinashe, Rei Yasuda, Mondo Grosso, FLETCH, and Hearts2Hearts, who will perform on the festival’s closing day.
