One Bite, One Dream: How Happytos Turned a Charity Campaign into Real Change

On April 9, 2026, the Main Atrium of Gandaria City in Jakarta transformed into more than just an event space—it became a place where hope, generosity, and dreams came together. Through its inspiring campaign, “One Bite, One Dream,” Happytos proved that even the smallest actions can lead to meaningful change.

The highlight of the evening was the presence of South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook, whose involvement elevated the campaign beyond a typical brand collaboration. Rather than simply appearing as the face of a product, he took an active role in supporting a cause that directly impacts children’s futures. His participation symbolized a deeper message: that influence, when used with purpose, can help build dreams.

Hosted by Edric Tjandra, the “Happytos Charity Night” carried the theme “One Night, Full of Dreams.” The event blended entertainment with heartfelt storytelling, creating an atmosphere that was both joyful and meaningful. It served as a celebration of everyone who had contributed—through simple purchases or generous donations—to making a difference in the lives of others.

At the heart of the campaign lies a powerful idea: every bite counts. Through the purchase of special edition Happytos products, the public directly contributed to building educational opportunities for children in need. And the impact is real. Happytos successfully funded the construction of two pre-schools in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara—Cahaya Timur Pre-School and Karmel Pre-School.

These schools are not only places of learning but also symbols of innovation and sustainability. Built using safe block construction methods, they feature cross-ventilation systems and incorporate approximately 2.2 tons of recycled plastic waste as eco-friendly building materials. It’s a thoughtful approach that combines education with environmental responsibility.

Beyond infrastructure, Happytos extended its commitment by awarding scholarships to 42 students across Indonesia, ensuring that support continues beyond the classroom walls. Education, after all, is not just about buildings—it’s about opportunity.

One of the most touching moments of the night came during the screening of a documentary-style video showing the journey of the school construction in Kupang. The audience witnessed the challenging conditions, as well as the joy and gratitude of the children who would soon benefit from the new facilities. It was a powerful reminder that collective efforts—no matter how small—can create life-changing outcomes.

During the Happy Talks session, Ji Chang Wook shared personal stories from his childhood and reflected on the importance of dreams and education. His words resonated deeply with the audience, adding a personal and emotional layer to the campaign.

“Thank you for inviting me to be part of this incredible project. I’m truly happy to share this journey with all of you and to bring hope to friends in Indonesia. Thank you very much.”

The evening also had its lighthearted moments. Ji Chang Wook joined a fun “Guess The Flavor” game, bringing laughter and spontaneity to the stage. He even took photos with three top donors, showing appreciation for their meaningful contributions.

His visit to SMAN 3 Jakarta added another memorable chapter to the campaign. There, he met students and symbolically awarded scholarships to five selected recipients, chosen for their academic achievements and creativity. It was a powerful gesture that reinforced Happytos’ long-term commitment to empowering Indonesia’s youth.

According to Agus Tjokrobintoro, the campaign reflects the brand’s dedication to creating lasting social impact. For a company that has been part of Indonesian life for over 40 years, this initiative marks a meaningful step beyond business—toward building a better future.

In the end, “One Bite, One Dream” is more than just a campaign. It’s a movement that shows how everyday choices can lead to extraordinary outcomes. With every bite, there’s a chance to contribute to something bigger—a dream, a future, and a better world for the next generation.
