Jakarta, Indonesia – July 2026 — One of Southeast Asia’s biggest celebrations of Japanese pop culture is making a spectacular return. Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2026 (AFAID26) is set to transform the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City into a vibrant paradise for anime, gaming, cosplay, music, and Japanese pop culture enthusiasts on August 15–16, 2026.

A Decade of Bringing Japanese Pop Culture to Indonesia

As part of AFA’s regional journey across Southeast Asia since 2008, the festival has connected millions of fans with the latest trends in anime, gaming, music, cosplay, and Japanese entertainment.
“Reaching our 10th edition in Indonesia is an incredible milestone for AFA,” said Shawn Chin, Founder & Managing Director of SOZO. “Indonesia has always been one of the most passionate and important markets for Japanese pop culture. We are deeply grateful to the fans who have grown with us over the years. AFAID26 reflects our continued commitment to delivering the very best of anime, music, creators, and Japanese entertainment while celebrating the amazing community that has made AFA what it is today.”

AFA’s beloved mascot, Seika, returns with an all-new design created by renowned Japanese illustrator LAM.
Inspired by this year’s theme, Seika represents the imagination, creativity, and wonder that unite anime fans around the world. LAM is widely recognized for his work on WACCA, takt op., and as the character designer behind hololive Indonesia’s Kureiji Ollie.
Having previously created the official key visuals for AFA Indonesia 2024 and 2025, LAM once again brings his artistic vision to AFAID26, helping commemorate this landmark 10th anniversary edition.
