With only days left, BTOB fancon in Jakarta was officially cancelled. This news was announced by APlanet Entertainment on Tuesday (2/7/2024). In the announcement, they confirmed that Minhyuk and his friends canceled meeting with Melody Indonesia, the name of the BTOB fandom.
“With a heavy heart, we would like to announce that the BTOB FANCON [OUR DREAM] IN JAKARTA event, which was originally scheduled for July 31 at 15.00 WIB is canceled,” the announcement read. The agency also mentioned the reason this fancon was canceled. One of them is because there are contractual problems with the promoter. According to them, some contractual obligations for the fancon were not fulfilled. BTOB’s fancon in Jakarta was promoted by Seraph Entertainment.
“After internal discussions and careful consideration with BTOB Company, we regretfully canceled this event due to unforeseen circumstances. The event was canceled due to contractual issues, such as inadequate local preparation and non-fulfillment of contractual obligations,” he continued.
Along with the cancellation announcement, APlanet Entertainment also confirmed that BTOB fancon ticket holders in Jakarta will be entitled to a refund. The ticket refund scheme will be notified later. “For fans who have purchased tickets, the refund process will be carried out through the refund system at loket.com,” said APlanet Entertainment.
Although it has been confirmed that they will get a refund, BTOB fans still expressed their disappointment on social media. Quite a number of fans from outside Jakarta have even booked transportation and hotel accommodations to watch BTOB’s fancon in Jakarta.
Earlier in early June 2024, Seraph Entertainment, the promoter of BTOB’s fancon in Jakarta, announced that the event would take place at Beach City International Stadium, Ancol. Then a few weeks later, it was moved to Sarbini Hall, South Jakarta.
Apart from the location, BTOB’s fancon in Jakarta has also changed its schedule. From the original 17.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB. “The show time will be moved forward at 3 pm, we really appreciate the fans who will perform Maghrib prayers, thank you,” Seraph Entertainment wrote on Instagram on Friday, June 7, 2024.
