Film Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan is scheduled for release in 2025. Directed by Yandy Laurens, the film stars Dion Wiyoko and Sheila Dara.
This movie is an adaptation of the same-titled series, also helmed by Yandy Laurens. The film’s shooting took place across three countries: Indonesia, Finland, and Croatia.
Yandy Laurens explained that the Finland shooting location was chosen to represent the character Jonathan, portrayed by Dion Wiyoko, who plays a photographer. “In Finland, we needed a setting that matched Jonathan’s role as a photographer. As you can see in the poster, Jonathan is in an environment filled with ice and snow, and we needed to discuss Jonathan’s concerns as a photographer. He’s about to discuss something important there,” said Yandy Laurens, speaking at a press event in Gelora, Central Jakarta, on Monday, November 11, 2024.
Initially, Yandy Laurens was apprehensive about writing the screenplay and selecting foreign shooting locations. However, with the support of the producer, Suryana Paramita, who believed the location was crucial to the storyline, Laurens decided to proceed. “In the end, because Mita (the producer) saw that Finland wasn’t just an aesthetic choice, but also vital for the story, it became a reality,” he said.
Laurens emphasized that every location chosen for the film was not just for its visual appeal, but also for its emotional function within the story. “So every place we picked wasn’t just for its aesthetics but also had an emotional function, contributing to the narrative and the characters,” Laurens added.
Meanwhile, Dion Wiyoko shared that the filming process for Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan took a long time. The shooting started in March and wrapped up in November. “It’s been a long process. We started in March, so it took quite a while. From the first reading to the shooting and finally the editing. The whole process has been lengthy,” Wiyoko explained.
As previously mentioned, Dion Wiyoko reprises his role as Jonathan, a character he portrayed in the series version. Sheila Dara, however, plays the character Sore, taking over the role originally played by Tika Bravani in the series.
The series Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan follows Jonathan (Dion Wiyoko), a young man from Indonesia living in Italy, who meets Sore (Tika Bravani), a woman claiming to be his wife from the future. Jonathan doesn’t believe her, but Sore insists on living with him and sharing her life with him. Sore’s presence changes Jonathan’s life, but will these changes endure when Sore must return to her own time?
