K-Pop idol Taemin finally returned to greet his fans in Indonesia after eight years. He successfully held his solo concert titled “2024 TAEMIN WORLD TOUR [Ephemeral Gaze]” on Saturday, October 26, 2024, promoted by iMe Indonesia. The performance, which took place at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, was undoubtedly a night to remember for TEAMet, his fanbase. Concert Opens with “Deja Vu”
Taemin opened the concert on a mysterious note with the song “Deja Vu.” The combination of dark stage effects and red spotlight made the appearance of the SHINee maknae (youngest member) very charismatic. His entrance left TAEMat—his fans—in awe as he donned a black mask. Cheers from the fans instantly filled the concert venue.
Greeting Fans in Indonesian and Returning to Jakarta After 8 Years
After performing three upbeat songs with super energetic dance moves, Taemin greeted the audience. “How are you? Hi Jakarta… this is Taemin,” he said on stage. With a smile, Taemin spoke some phrases in Indonesian. “Where’s the noise? Awesome!” he said fluently in Indonesian. Happy to be back in Jakarta, Taemin expressed joy at meeting his Indonesian fans again. “I came here in 2014 and 2016 for concerts. That means it has been eight years, and now I meet you all again. I feel very happy,” he shared with a smile.
Hot Indonesian Fans
During the concert, the SHINee maknae compared the weather in his hometown, Seoul, with Jakarta. He noted how hot it was in Jakarta. “Right now, it’s very cold in Korea, but it’s hot in Jakarta. Did you guys sweat waiting outside? But you are the hotter ones,” he teased the audience. During a video fan project, Taemin’s eyes glistened as he watched TEAMet Indonesia’s fan project. “Thank you for making beautiful memories,” he said. Performing 21 Songs
Through the “Ephemeral Gaze” concert, Taemin performed around 21 songs. Not only showcasing his vocal skills, but he also displayed his dance and rap abilities during this concert. This concert was part of the launch of Taemin’s fifth mini-album titled “Eternal,” released on August 19. His arrival in Jakarta was part of his world tour. Taemin began his tour in Incheon on August 31 to September 1, then continued to Kuala Lumpur on September 7, Taipei on September 14, Tokyo from September 21-23, Bangkok on September 28, Hong Kong on October 5, and Fukuoka on October 19-20. Jakarta was the eighth city Taemin visited on this tour. After Jakarta, he will continue to Abu Dhabi on November 1, Singapore on November 9, and Manila on November 24.
Concert Lasting Over 2 Hours and Promising to Return to Jakarta
The concert lasted for more than two hours and was filled with energy. Taemin showcased different sides of himself through a variety of song concepts. After a mysterious black-themed performance, in the second session, Taemin made the entire venue emotional with his mellow songs, starting with “Clockwork” and continuing to “Not Over You,” singing solo without his dancers.
In the third session, the 31-year-old appeared swag with a hip-hop concept. Dressed in all red, he showcased his rap skills in songs like “G.O.A.T” and “The Rizzness.” Seeing the enthusiasm of TAEMat present that night, Taemin promised to return to Jakarta.
