Iko Uwais Introduces Uwais Pictures Through the Production of His First Two Films: “Ikatan Darah” & “Timur”

Jakarta, January 21, 2025 — International actor and action star Iko Uwais announced the launch of his production company, Uwais Pictures. Uwais Pictures is a film production company focused on producing impactful action films, run by Iko Uwais and his renowned collaborators, with plans to expand its distribution reach to the global film market.

Uwais Pictures is a production company that will handle various aspects such as film financing, development, packaging services, and the production of high-impact action films. With a focus on the action genre, Uwais Pictures will bring a unique approach to filmmaking by combining choreography, innovative stunt designs, and top-tier stunt performances into its films. Currently, Uwais Pictures has completed the production of its first two feature films, Ikatan Darah and Timur, in 2024. With these two films, Iko Uwais and Uwais Pictures are set to continue the global success following The Raid: Redemption (2011), The Raid 2 (2014), and The Night Comes for Us (2018).

Ikatan Darah tells the story of a former pencak silat athlete who must confront a loan shark network to save his brother, who is trapped in a debt problem and risking the safety of his family. Meanwhile, Timur is a tense action drama film inspired by a hostage rescue mission that took place in Indonesia in 1996.

Ikatan Darah is directed by Sidharta Tata, a director known for creating blockbuster films and many successful film and series projects in Indonesia. Timur marks Iko Uwais’s directorial debut. Both films are produced by Ryan Santoso, with executive producer Yentonius Jerriel Ho.

Iko Uwais and his long-time collaborators, who have worked together for years, have developed a formula for creating successful films. At Uwais Pictures, Iko Uwais will serve as Chairman. Uwais Pictures will also be led by a leadership team including Ryan Santoso as Chief Executive Producer, Yentonius Jerriel Ho as Chairman & Chief Executive Producer, and Adamy Nurdin as Chief Operating Officer.

Iko Uwais is also known for his roles in films such as Snake Eyes, Stuber, The Expendables, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In addition, he starred, produced, and choreographed the action sequences for the Netflix series Wu Assassins. The collaboration between Iko Uwais and his team in storytelling, martial arts, and stunt coordination brought to every film production is at the heart of Uwais Pictures’ vision, aiming to bring fresh, exciting, and action-packed stories to the big screen.
