The OTT service Viu has announced its latest series titled ” Aku Tak Membenci Hujan” This series has been eagerly awaited by fans, as it is adapted from the bestselling novel by Sri Puji Hartini. The cast was announced on Monday (October 14, 2024). Jeff Smith and Aisyah Aqilah have been selected to portray the main characters, Karang Samudra and Launa. In addition, the series also features a lineup of other well-known young artists, such as Gabriel Prince and Vonzy.
” Aku Tak Membenci Hujan” follows the life of a girl named Launa who must adapt to her new environment. Unexpectedly, she becomes intrigued by Karang, a mysterious student. As time goes on, Launa realizes that Karang has multiple personalities, which makes their relationship more emotional and challenging.
With a psychological theme that explores mental health—an often overlooked topic in Indonesian dramas—this series promises a deep portrayal of Karang’s dual personality, as well as the brave yet often frustrating Agha, and the fragile Banu, who desperately needs attention.

The producer of ” Aku Tak Membenci Hujan” revealed that the cast is already set to begin filming. The shooting process is expected to last about a month, with the series premiering on Viu in December 2024.
“The shooting will take a month and will have 8 episodes airing in December,” said the producer at the cast reveal event for ” Aku Tak Membenci Hujan”” at Lotte Avenue on Monday (October 14, 2024).
