Global supergroup BTS officially marked the biggest comeback of the decade with BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, a spectacular live show broadcast from Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, 2026. The event celebrated the release of their highly anticipated new album ARIRANG and signaled the long-awaited return of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook to the global stage.

From the very beginning, the performance felt extraordinary. It opened with a fusion of traditional Korean instruments and modern sounds, as 50 dancers moved in a striking formation atop Gyeongbokgung Palace. The anticipation peaked when BTS appeared and greeted the crowd with, “Hello, Seoul! We’re back.”

A Setlist Full of Energy and Emotion

That night, BTS delivered a perfect mix of fan-favorite hits and first-ever live performances from ARIRANG. The setlist included:

  • “Body to Body”
  • “Hooligan”
  • “2.0”
  • “Butter”
  • “MIC Drop”
  • “Aliens”
  • “FYA”
  • “SWIM”
  • “Like Animals”
  • “NORMAL”
  • “Dynamite”
  • “Mikrokosmos”

Opening track “Body to Body,” inspired by the traditional Korean folk song “Arirang,” immediately ignited the crowd. From the very first note, the performance delivered an emotional and symbolic atmosphere, enhanced by stunning visuals and intricate choreography.

Artistic Visuals Rich in Meaning

One of the most striking moments came during “Aliens.” Featuring black-and-white visuals inspired by geongongamri—the four trigrams on the South Korean flag—the performance conveyed themes of harmony and cultural identity through a modern, artistic lens.

A similar aesthetic carried through “NORMAL,” “Like Animals,” “SWIM,” and “FYA,” blending Taegeuk-inspired elements with futuristic visuals. The result was a stage experience that felt both visually breathtaking and deeply meaningful.

The Emotional Peak: “SWIM”

One of the night’s biggest highlights was “SWIM.” With elegant, controlled choreography, BTS showcased their artistic maturity. The performance captured the emotional core of ARIRANG—a story of journey, resilience, and unity.

Near the end, RM shared a heartfelt message:
“No matter what happens, we promise to keep swimming together.”

The finale felt truly magical. “Dynamite” and “Mikrokosmos” were performed with deep emotion as LED cubes gradually lit up like stars, transforming the night sky over Seoul. The audience sang along, creating a warm and unforgettable moment.

A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Set against historic landmarks like Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung, the performance beautifully blended Korea’s cultural heritage with world-class stage production—offering a powerful showcase for global audiences.
