Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the third season of Squid Game for the first time at Tudum 2025: The Live Event, attended by fans as well as cast members from both the second and third seasons. Alongside the trailer, Netflix also released the second batch of brand-new images from the upcoming season. This marks the most intense chapter yet, as the global phenomenon approaches both its conclusion and climax. Who will be the last one standing in the deadly game worth 45.6 billion won?
THE FINAL SHOWDOWN
The thrilling trailer opens with a haunting children’s rhyme: “Knock knock, who’s there? Your little friend.” Terrified contestants cower beneath the towering legs of Young-hee, the deadly giant doll from the “Red Light, Green Light” game in season one. Now dressed in floral-patterned tights, her eerie new look continues the series’ signature blend of twisted childhood innocence and survival horror.
Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) cries out in anguish: “Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you let me live?” His torment reveals overwhelming guilt over losing his friend, Jung-bae, during their failed rebellion. Now, he faces his final confrontation with the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who had infiltrated the game as the player Young-il. Unmasked and once again pulling the strings, the Front Man poses a chilling question: “Player 456, do you still believe in humanity?”
NEW GAMES, EXTREME STAKES
New visuals reveal deadly new challenges, including a jump rope game. As desperation peaks, Geum-ja (Kang Ae-sim) pleads in tears: “Please, let us stop playing this,” while Myung-gi (Yim Si-wan) confronts Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri): “What are you planning? Just sit here and die?”
THE FINAL CHAPTER OF SURVIVAL
The latest images show the intensity building as Gi-hun appears in a suit, steel determination in his eyes—is he in the final round? The Front Man now wears number 132, hinting at a hidden backstory. Remaining players—Myung-gi, Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul), Hyun-ju (Park Sung-hoon), and others—display deep emotions under high-stakes situations. Adding to the mystery is Gyeong-seok (Lee Jin-uk), who was shot during a brutal suppression of the rebellion. Seen clutching his wounded abdomen as he faces a Pink Guard, the question lingers: will he survive, and seek revenge? Meanwhile, Detective Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun) is seen examining game symbols, potentially uncovering the conspiracy behind the deadly tournament.
Season 3 of Squid Game brings the final, suspense-filled chapter of creator Hwang Dong-hyuk’s record-breaking global phenomenon. The show’s second season ranked third among Netflix’s most-watched seasons of all time.
Prepare for the Season 3 premiere of Squid Game on June 27, only on Netflix.
