Jakarta, February 11, 2026 – After a busy 2025 appearing in multiple film roles, Luna Maya is taking a different path in 2026: she will appear in only one film this year, the highly anticipated horror-action film SUZZANNA: SANTET – Dosa di Atas Dosa, presented by Soraya Intercine Films.
This marks Luna’s third time portraying a character from Indonesia’s iconic Suzzanna horror universe, but for the first time, she does not play a ghost. Instead, she brings Suzzanna to life as a fully human character, sharing the screen with six-time Citra Award winner Reza Rahadian.
“I really enjoyed this film because I’m not playing a ghost or a ‘sundel bolong’,” Luna shared. “Here, Suzzanna is human from start to finish. That’s what makes this version different from previous Suzzanna films.”
Bringing Suzzanna to Life
Luna emphasized that her biggest challenge was capturing Suzzanna’s essence as a character. She studied the late Suzzanna’s unique acting style, dialogue delivery, and pronunciation to honor her legacy.
“Bunda (Suzzanna) had such a distinctive way of performing, the way she emphasized certain words and consonants,” Luna explained. “I watched old clips repeatedly to get a sense of her presence and infuse it into my performance.”
She hopes that SUZZANNA: SANTET – Dosa di Atas Dosa will be warmly received by Indonesian audiences when it premieres during Lebaran this year.
“This is my only film in 2026, so there are no other projects planned. You definitely don’t want to miss it,” Luna added.
“I hope it becomes the most anticipated Lebaran film, bringing families to cinemas together with their loved ones,” she concluded.
A Star-Studded Cast
Alongside Luna Maya and Reza Rahadian, the film features the late Suzzanna’s husband Clift Sangra, Nai Djenar Maesa Ayu, Adi Bing Slamet, El Manik, Yatti Surachman, Iwa K, Nunung, Andi/Rif, Budi Bima, Aziz Gagap, Ence Bagus, Sabar Bokir, Petrix Gembul, and Piet Pagau.
Previous films in the Suzzanna universe have been blockbuster hits, with Suzzanna: Bernapas dalam Kubur (2018) drawing over 3 million viewers, and Suzzanna: Malam Jumat Kliwon (2023) attracting over 2 million viewers.

Synopsis
Suzzanna (Luna Maya) is loved by Bisman (Clift Sangra), a ruthless village ruler. But his thirst for power leads him to curse Suzzanna’s father to death. Driven by revenge, Suzzanna delves into the dark arts of Santet.
As she plots her revenge, she discovers that Bisman’s power is far greater than she imagined. Along the way, Suzzanna falls in love with Pramuja (Reza Rahadian), a devout man unaware of her secret. Ultimately, she faces a heartbreaking choice: pursue vengeance or risk everything for love.
