oi oi KUALA LUMPUR, February 5, 2026 — Following the strong impact of last year’s Bidaah, Viu once again presents a bold and thought-provoking series. The leading PCCW streaming platform has officially announced its latest title, Viu Original Walid (Heaven’s Reign), an intense religious thriller that explores the dark intersection of faith, personal ambition, and the struggle for power. The series will premiere exclusively on Viu starting February 26, 2026.
Produced by Rumah Karya Citra, Walid consists of 12 episodes and reunites the creative duo behind Bidaah: Eirma Fatima as creator and writer, and Pali Yahya as director. Their collaboration promises a powerful narrative filled with emotional depth and psychological tension.
A Struggle for Power Cloaked in Faith
Walid follows the journey of Walid (Faizal Hussein), a former leader of the Jihad Ummah sect who manages to evade the authorities. Hiding in a remote mountainous area, Walid attempts to rebuild his influence over followers who still remain loyal to him. His plans lead him into a fragile alliance with Habiburrahman (Aqasha), a charismatic preacher harboring dangerous ambitions.
Over time, their partnership evolves into a silent battle—not fought with weapons, but with words, beliefs, and manipulation. Both men vie for control over faith, loyalty, and authority, revealing how power can masquerade as righteousness.
Amid this conflict stands Ummi Hafizah (Marisa Yasmin), Walid’s estranged wife, who is determined to restore what she believes to be the true teachings of faith among the followers. Meanwhile, Ustaz Fateh (Dato’ A. Tamimi Siregar), Walid’s former mentor, returns from Cairo in a final attempt to save his misguided student.
The intertwining fates of these characters expose the thin line between sincerity and deception, culminating in an emotional confrontation centered on ego, regret, and the possibility of redemption.
A Powerful Malaysia–Indonesia Ensemble Cast
The series is led by Faizal Hussein as Walid, alongside Aqasha as Habiburrahman and veteran Malaysian actor Dato’ A. Tamimi Siregar as Ustaz Fateh. The cast also features prominent names from across the region, including Indonesian star Olla Ramlan as Raras Kartika, Marisa Yasmin as Ummi Hafizah, and Vanidah Imran as Ummi Rabiatul.
