Video Games Concert Volume II Successfully Held in Jakarta, Here’s the Excitement

Addie MS and the Twilite Orchestra held the “Video Game Concert Volume II” on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Tennis Indoor Senayan.

Opened by Kandis

This exciting collaboration included the K-pop vocal group, Kandis. Hello, Nine, Venny, and Looky from Kandis performed as the opening act in the concert, which lasted from 7:00 PM until after 10:00 PM. Right from the start, they showed that their vocal skills were no joke.

Kandis performed a series of songs that were both vocally challenging and emotionally intense:

  • “Legends Never Die” (League of Legends)
  • “Weight of the World” (NieR: Automata)
  • “One” (RF Online)
  • “Kiss Me Goodbye” (Final Fantasy XII)
  • “Simple and Clean” (Kingdom Hearts)

Some songs were performed in full with the complete lineup, while others were only sung by part of the group. However, in each performance, the members of Kandis successfully delivered captivating and heartfelt interpretations.

After Kandis finished their opening act, it was time for Addie MS and Twilite Orchestra to take the stage. However, this didn’t mean their role was over, as Hello and other Kandis members still participated in several songs during the main session.

Divided into Two Sessions

Session 1 featured a wide range of songs from the world of video games, presenting compositions that were not only epic but also nostalgic:

  • “Liberi Fatali” (Final Fantasy VIII)
  • “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Main Theme” (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom)
  • “Suikoden II Opening Theme” (Suikoden II)
  • “Melodies of Life” (Final Fantasy IX)
  • “The Edge of Dawn (Seasons of Warfare)” (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
  • “Super Mario Bros. Medley” (Super Mario Bros.)
  • “Eyes on Me” (Final Fantasy VIII)
  • “Theme of Prontera” (Ragnarok Online)
  • “To Zanarkand” (Final Fantasy X)
  • “Pokémon Trainer Battle!” (Pokémon)
  • “Tatakau Monotachi” (Final Fantasy VII)
  • “Stormblood Theme: Triumph” (Final Fantasy XIV)

Each composition offered a different atmosphere—ranging from grand and dramatic like “Liberi Fatali,” light and cheerful like “Super Mario Bros. Medley,” to touching and emotional like “Melodies of Life.”

Hello from Kandis performed “Eyes on Me,” one of the first ending themes I heard in a game sung with vocals. Hello’s interpretation was beautiful and heartfelt. “Liberi Fatali” opened with full power, supported by a choir, and immediately created a grand atmosphere that was the perfect start to the session.

Meutia Amanda successfully conveyed deep emotions in “Melodies of Life” and “The Edge of Dawn (Seasons of Warfare),” two songs that each carried a strong narrative and touched the heart. Tristan Juliano played a piano version of one of the most iconic BGM pieces from Final Fantasy X, “To Zanarkand,” which sounded melancholic and captivating.

Kevin Aprilio, supported by the orchestra, performed “Tatakau Monotachi,” one of the most legendary battle themes from Final Fantasy VII, with full intensity. The highlight was when Tristan and Kevin collaborated on “Pokémon Trainer Battle!” creating a fun and energetic moment.

And in this concert, “Liberi Fatali” once again delivered the same sensation—confirming from the start that this first session would be a grand and unforgettable experience.

Session 2 was truly designed as the main event. The selection of songs was incredibly powerful, presenting a series of compositions that were not only epic but also deeply memorable:

  • “Final Fantasy Theme” (Final Fantasy)
  • “Divinity I” (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
  • “Proof of a Hero” (Monster Hunter)
  • “Chocobo Theme” (Final Fantasy)
  • “Suteki Da Ne” (Final Fantasy X)
  • “Happy Journey” (Genshin Impact)
  • “PUBG Mobile Theme Music” (PUBG Mobile)
  • “Baka Mitai” (Yakuza 5)
  • “Snake Eater” (Metal Gear Solid 3)
  • “Dota 2 Main Menu Theme” (Dota 2)
  • “No Promises to Keep” (Final Fantasy VII Rebirth)
  • “One-Winged Angel” (Final Fantasy VII)

This set of songs was so powerful that Addie MS and Twilite Orchestra, supported by a grand choir, successfully delivered the legendary battle theme against Sephiroth with full intensity. The electric guitar part was absolutely stunning, delivering a pulse that was both iconic and adrenaline-pumping.

What was even more impressive? “One-Winged Angel” wasn’t just performed once. The song was played again as the second encore, closing the concert in a truly spectacular way. And even though it had already been performed earlier, the second rendition was just as epic and intense as the first.

Of course, other songs also stood out. This was a session with an incredibly strong setlist, and many performances truly grabbed the spotlight. “Baka Mitai” (Yakuza 5) sounded so heartbreaking, with Danu Kusuma’s vocals perfectly capturing the deep sorrow in the lyrics.

Evelyn Wijaya performed “Snake Eater” with extraordinary vocals. This song is technically difficult to sing, but Evelyn delivered it in her own unique style, leaving a lasting and unforgettable impression.

As a long-time PUBG Mobile player who’s heard the game’s theme music countless times, the audience was truly impressed with how Addie MS and Twilite Orchestra delivered one of the most epic renditions of the PUBG Mobile Theme. The arrangement was grand and created a much larger atmosphere than the original version.

Session 2 really showed how this concert was designed to leave a profound impact. And with a closing as strong as “One-Winged Angel,” Video Game Concert Volume II ended not only spectacularly but also in an iconic way.
