Gala Premier of Kang Mak From Pee Mak, The Original Pee Mak Cast Was Also Present

Falcon Pictures finally held a gala premiere of the comedy horror film Kang Mak from Pee Mak, adapted from a Thai film, at Plaza Indonesia, on Saturday (3/8/2024).
The premiere gala was attended by a number of players along with Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, stars of Pee Mak.

Their arrival was greeted enthusiastically by the fans. They flocked to welcome their idols at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.

For Mario Maurer, this is the third time he has set foot in Indonesia.
He feels his visit this time is very special because he will participate in the gala premiere of the movie, made by director Herwin Novianto and the cast from Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Davika Hoorne also expressed her enthusiasm to visit Indonesia for the second time.
Mario Maurer said he liked the Indonesian version of the movie. In a press conference session in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, he said, “This is good work. I like it.” In fact, the man born in 1988 also felt, after watching the Indonesian version of Pee Mak had brought him back to the past, when he played the character Mak. “I had a lot of energy when I watched the movie, because it was so funny. I remember filming it again back then,” Mario added.

Davika Hoorne, who played Nak in the original version, also expressed her amazement at the remake. The woman who is familiarly called Phii Mai also said that the director, Herwin Novianto, managed to inject Indonesian culture into the storyline and create a blend that satisfied the audience’s laughter. “Although not everything is the same as in Pee Mak, but this is quite satisfying,” Davika said.

Meanwhile, Banjong Pisanthanakun, the director of Pee Mak, also praised Herwin Novianto’s work. According to him, Kang Mak from Pee Mak was well-crafted by Herwin Novianto, and very different from the Pee Mak movie he worked on in 2013.

“Even though it was 10 years ago that Thailand was released, but this is very good,” he said. He was touched by the enthusiasm of the cast and the camaraderie between them. “If there is an offer for future cooperation, either collaboration or me directing an Indonesian movie, we will be very open,” said Banjong.

Kang Mak from Pee Mak is a Falcon Pictures movie that carries the comedy horror genre. Kang Mak From Pee Mak tells the story of a man named Mak (Vino G Bastian) who returns from the battlefield only to find his wife, Nak (Marsha Timothy). However, it turns out that Nak has passed away and become a ghost.To save Mak from his dead wife, Mak’s hilarious and colorful friends must face various funny and tense situations.

 Kang Mak From Pee Mak, starring Vino G Bastian, Marsha Timothy, Indro Warkop, Tora Sudiro, Rigen Rakelna, and Indra Jegel, is scheduled to air in all Indonesian theaters starting August 15, 2024.
