BABYMONSTER, a rising South Korean girl group, will hold their first fanmeeting in 2024. Through uploads on their official Instagram account (@babymonster_ygofficial), the seven-member group will visit a number of cities, including Jakarta, Indonesia.
In the upload on Today (Monday, 18/03), YG Entertainment mentioned several cities that will be the location of the BABYMONSTER fanmeeting. First, they will visit Tokyo, followed by Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, and Bangkok. Unfortunately, it has not been announced when and where the fan meeting location will be.
In addition to fanmeeting plans, BABYMONSTER also announced that they will launch their first mini album scheduled for April 1, 2024 at 00.00 South Korean time. Titled BABYMONSTER, the group has also spread song introduction videos for their upcoming mini album. BABYMONSTER, also known as Baemon, is a South Korean female vocal group formed and managed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of seven members, namely Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita. They debuted on November 27, 2023 with a single titled ‘Batter Up’.
Created with a ‘high-teen’ image, the septet retains YG Entertainment’s signature ‘charismatic’ elements. BABYMONSTER is touted as an ‘all-round’ group and its members are labeled as ‘elite’ by the public and media, with each excelling in vocals, rap, and dance. The ensemble is also proficient in multiple languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Thai and Chinese.
In a survey conducted by entertainment business magazine JoyNews24, two hundred industry workers from entertainment companies and broadcasters, film and broadcast content producers, and entertainment reporters ranked the group tentatively ninth in ‘Most Anticipated Artists of Late 2021 and 2022’, on par with Ive among others.
BABYMONSTER’s official debut occurred on November 27, 2023 with the single ‘Batter Up’. Its music video received 22.59 million views in a day, becoming the most watched debut music video in the first 24 hours in K-pop history. One of the members, Ahyeon, was forced to miss the release due to health reasons. She was eventually removed from the debut line-up, but remained in the ensemble, only excluded from activities.
