Dewi vs Raras Kartika (Olla Ramlan): Which Walid Character Dominated the Conversation This Week?

The Malaysian drama Walid, which airs every Thursday and Friday on Viu, has once again become a hot topic on social media.

One interesting development is that Dewi, played by Ranea Ezreen, has emerged as the most viral character this week—surpassing the new character Raras Kartika, portrayed by Olla Ramlan.

Digital conversation data shows that Dewi’s dominance is not only reflected in viewer discussions but is also clearly visible in reach, mentions, and viral moments throughout the week.

1. Reach Data Shows Dewi’s Dominance

Looking at the total digital conversation reach over the past week, Dewi ranks at the top.

Based on social listening research conducted by Contentro, Dewi generated 10.7 million reach, accounting for about 68% of all conversations related to the series.

This figure is even slightly higher than the main character Walid, who recorded around 10.5 million reach. However, a significant portion of the conversations about Walid also occurred in relation to his dynamic with Dewi.

By comparison, Raras Kartika, played by Olla Ramlan, generated around 1.2 million reach, or roughly 8% of the total conversation.

These numbers indicate that Dewi has become the central character in audience discussions surrounding the series.

2. Dewi’s Conversations Are Driven by Her Character Journey

One reason for Dewi’s strong presence in online discussions is that audiences have been familiar with her character since the first season of Bidaah, which went viral in 2025.

For more than a year, viewers have followed her complex journey with Walid—from a manipulative relationship, to emotional dynamics that left audiences frustrated, and ongoing moral questions about whether Dewi is truly a victim or partly responsible for what happened.

When the latest season brought Dewi back still closely connected to Walid, audiences felt they were continuing a story they had been invested in for a long time.

This continuity is one of the main reasons why conversations about Dewi exploded during the early days of the new season’s release.

3. Mentions Ranking Shows Tight Competition

In terms of total mentions on social media, Walid still ranks first, largely driven by the widespread use of the hashtag #walid.

However, Dewi also recorded a high number of mentions, placing her among the most frequently discussed characters in the series.

Interestingly, mentions related to Olla Ramlan or Raras Kartika ranked third, with numbers that are almost comparable to Dewi.

The key difference lies in reach and viral impact. Conversations about Dewi reached a much broader audience compared to discussions about Raras.

4. Dewi Generated the Biggest Viral Moment

The most striking difference appears in the viral moments throughout the broadcast week.

Dewi recorded a major spike in reach, hitting 10.7 million on February 27—just one day after the episode aired—making it one of the biggest conversation peaks related to the series.

Meanwhile, the biggest moment for Olla Ramlan occurred on March 4, when discussions increased as her character’s role became clearer in the storyline.

Although the number of mentions was quite high, the overall impact was still smaller than the massive reach generated by content related to Dewi.

5. Memes and Organic Conversations Boost Dewi’s Virality

Discussions about Dewi have also grown organically through memes and fan-created content.

Most Dewi-related posts consist of memes, reaction videos, and screenshots from key scenes, which are widely reshared by viewers.

In contrast, conversations about Olla Ramlan tend to appear more frequently through news articles and media coverage.

This phenomenon shows how audience reactions to Dewi go beyond the storyline itself and extend into the digital space where viewers interpret and discuss the relationship dynamics portrayed in the series.

Story Developments in Episodes 3–4

As the series moves into episodes 3 and 4, Walid introduces increasingly complex story developments.

The latest episodes highlight how the community continues to function while facing two major pressures at once: scrutiny over the teachings they promote and the absence of their main leader.

Without Walid’s direct presence, the followers must continue making decisions and maintaining the rhythm of their activities. In such circumstances, the figures standing at the front line carry a major responsibility in determining the direction of the group.
