The residents of Rusun 609 are facing more than just noisy neighbors. In the newly released trailer for Warga Rusun 609, a restless ghost, a troubled past, and the threat of eviction collide to create a chaotic mix of horror and comedy.

Produced by Rapi Films in collaboration with Sky Media Films, Vortera Studios, and Legacy Pictures, Warga Rusun 609 officially unveiled its latest trailer and poster on Monday, August 31, 2026. Directed by Herwin Novianto and written by Upi, the horror-comedy is scheduled to hit Indonesian cinemas nationwide on October 1, 2026.

At the center of the story is Arka, played by Morgan Oey, a popular college student who comes from a wealthy family. His life takes a disturbing turn after a bet leads to a bitter relationship with Bunga, portrayed by Ranty Maria.

Things become even darker when Bunga is found dead. Her death, however, does not mark the end of her story. Her spirit returns and begins haunting Room 609, turning the apartment building into a terrifying playground for the residents.

But for the people living in Rusun 609, the ghost is only half of the problem.

While the residents struggle to deal with Bunga’s supernatural presence, they are also confronted by Pak Bahlil, played by David Nurbianto, who threatens to relocate them from their homes. Suddenly, the residents have to fight on two fronts: surviving a haunting and protecting the place they call home.

This clash between supernatural terror and everyday neighborhood problems becomes the heart of the film’s comedy. Instead of simply running away from a ghost, the residents of Rusun 609 must find a way to deal with their supernatural visitor while simultaneously standing together against the threat of eviction.

Warga Rusun 609 is an Indonesian adaptation of the Thai horror-comedy Buppah Rahtree. However, the filmmakers have reworked the story around the realities of life in an Indonesian public housing complex. The setting allows conflicts between neighbors, community solidarity, and the struggle to protect one’s home to become an important part of the narrative.

The film also boasts a large ensemble cast, featuring Morgan Oey, Ranty Maria, Gita Bhebhita, Galabby, Sarah Sechan, Riyuka Bunga, Aming, Keanu, Papham Ashari, Yono Bakrie, Danang Suryonegoro, Tanta Ginting, Dustin Tiffani, Dian Sidik, David Nurbianto, and Adzana Ashel.

With its combination of supernatural scares, absurd situations, and the everyday chaos of apartment living, Warga Rusun 609 looks set to offer a different flavor of Indonesian horror comedy. The film brings together ghosts, neighborhood disputes, and the struggle against eviction in one story—promising plenty of opportunities for both laughs and scares.
