2NE1 is confirmed to have a concert in Jakarta on November 23, 2024. The concert is in the framework of the comeback and world tour previously announced by YG Entertainment.
The certainty that CL, Sandra Park, Park Bom, and Minzy will come to Jakarta was announced by YG Entertainment on Friday (6/9). This concert is also part of the 2NE1 ASIA TOUR [WELCOME BACK] 2024-25.
Jakarta is the second city announced to be visited by the quartet after Manila, Philippines, on November 16, 2024. There are still four more cities that YG will announce in the near future.
Meanwhile, 2NE1’s concert in Jakarta will be hosted by iMe Indonesia. The local promoter has not provided any detailed information other than what has been announced by YG.
In July 2024, YG Entertainment confirmed that 2NE1 would make a comeback and work with the agency again. The return of the 2nd generation KPop girl group is part of YG’s 2024-2025 plan.
2NE1’s comeback is also a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the group, which is considered one of the first groups to ride the hallyu wave to the international market.
“So we met and happily discussed doing it this year,” said YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk in a video uploaded on Monday (July 22) morning.
“The concert will start in early October in Seoul, we have booked venues in Osaka and Tokyo in late November and December,” he said, adding that he was arranging schedules with 2NE1 for other performances.
He also ensured that the upcoming 2NE1 concert will be special, especially when spent with the fans, known as Blackjack.
“The concert will resonate with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music so share those memories,” he said.
“They have a lot of hit songs, so the staff worked hard to make it so successful,” he emphasized.
2NE1 officially debuted in May 2009 with the release of the single Fire. Since then, they released so many hit songs, such as I Am the Best, Missing You, Come Back Home, Lonely, Ugly, I Love You, and others.
In 2012, 2NE1 became the first K-pop girl group to go on a world tour.
