Adventuring in the World of One Piece Through Grand Line Trials in Jakarta

For fans of One Piece, exploring iconic places like Whisky Peak or Drum Island usually means diving into the manga pages or watching the anime series. But now, that experience feels far more real thanks to the One Piece: Grand Line Trials event held at Senayan Park.

I was lucky enough to experience the event earlier than the public along with fellow media colleagues on Thursday (March 5, 2026). Before stepping into the adventure area, we attended a special screening of the first episode of One Piece: Into the Grand Line. The event wasn’t only attended by media, but also by several influencers who fully embraced the moment by wearing costumes inspired by characters from the One Piece universe.

The Adventure Begins

Although it had rained earlier, the weather suddenly cleared when we arrived at the venue around 4:54 PM—almost as if it was welcoming the adventure about to begin.

From afar, the atmosphere of the One Piece world was already unmistakable. A row of white European-style buildings stood prominently in the area. In front of them was an iconic execution platform—an instantly recognizable landmark for One Piece fans and one with deep historical significance in the story.

The One Piece: Grand Line Trials event features several iconic locations appearing in One Piece (Live Action) Season 2. Besides exploring the themed installations, visitors can also take part in a fun mission to find several iconic items belonging to the Straw Hat crew that are hidden throughout the area.

The moment I stepped into the event space, it genuinely felt like entering the world of One Piece. Every decoration and detail was crafted to closely resemble what appears in the series.

The large area also allows visitors to freely explore, making the experience feel even more immersive—almost like becoming a pirate alongside the Straw Hat crew.

A Charming Visit to Drum Island

My adventure began at Drum Island, the winter island known as the birthplace of Tony Tony Chopper.

The Drum Island installation perfectly captures the atmosphere of a snowy island. Artificial snow covers the area, creating the illusion of a cold environment. Despite the bright Jakarta afternoon, the setup successfully delivered a wintery vibe.

At the center of the area stood a statue of Tony Tony Chopper, adorably welcoming visitors for photos. Even better, the photos could be printed instantly so visitors could take home a memorable souvenir.

Meeting Laboon by the Lake

After exploring for a while, I made my way to the lakeside area of Senayan Park. From a distance, it was already crowded with enthusiastic visitors.

Amid the lively atmosphere, I spotted actor Arbani Yasiz taking photos of the installations. My attention quickly shifted to the impressive replica of Laboon, located by the lake.

The massive whale replica looked incredibly detailed and realistic. This area was slightly slippery due to water splashes, so visitors were advised to be careful when going up and down the steps. Fortunately, the event staff were quick to ensure the area remained safe.

Interestingly, I ended up visiting this area twice because I initially missed one of the Straw Hat crew’s hidden iconic items.

Recreating an Iconic Scene in Loguetown

Around 5:40 PM, after seeing Laboon, my eyes were drawn to a classic European-style building nearby where several visitors were lining up.

It immediately reminded me of Loguetown, the historic town where Monkey D. Luffy was nearly executed by Buggy the Clown.

What makes this spot particularly exciting is its interactive experience. Visitors can reenact the dramatic pirate execution scene using detailed props provided at the location.

Sword Action at Whisky Peak

Next on the adventure was Whisky Peak.

As soon as I stepped into the area, the stacked cactus decorations immediately caught my attention. The design successfully recreated the atmosphere of the bounty hunter town from the series.

Several swords were neatly arranged around the area, reminding fans of Roronoa Zoro defeating 100 bounty hunters.

Even better, visitors could use these swords to strike dramatic Zoro-style poses for photos. Unsurprisingly, this spot became one of the most popular attractions and even formed long lines.

Testing Your Aim Like Usopp

The fun didn’t stop there. I also tried the Slingshot Challenge, a game inspired by the sharpshooting skills of Usopp.

Each participant gets three chances to hit the target. My first shot missed because I was still getting used to it. But on the second and third attempts, my aim improved and the shots landed closer to the target.

The challenge added an exciting layer to the experience, making it feel like I was truly part of the Straw Hat pirate crew.

Free for the Public

The One Piece: Grand Line Trials event officially opens to the public from March 6–15, 2026, and takes place at Senayan Park.

Even better, the event is completely free to attend. Visitors only need to register online, which has been available since February 27, 2026 via Loket.com.

For One Piece fans, this event offers a rare opportunity to experience the thrill of the Grand Line—without ever leaving Jakarta. Ready to set sail with the Straw Hat crew?
