Kim Go-eun’s latest film, titled Love in the Big City, will be released in Indonesian theaters starting October 9, 2024. Kim Go-eun stars alongside Pachinko star Noh Sang-hyun.
The release of Love in the Big City was announced by Feat Pictures, the local distributor, via social media. The announcement was accompanied by a poster featuring Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun, also known as Steve Noh.
“Love doesn’t need to be regretted; live life to the fullest. Watch Kim Go-eun (Exhuma) & Steve Noh (Pachinko) in LOVE IN THE BIG CITY, only in theaters starting October 9,” tweeted @FeatPictures on Thursday (September 6).
The film features Kim Go-eun as a character named Jae-hee, while Sang-hyun plays a character named Heung-soo.
Jae-hee is a woman who feels she has a different identity and perspective from the norms of South Korean society. She believes that her personality has sparked endless gossip.
One day, Jae-hee meets a man named Heung-soo. They share a common feeling of being oddballs lost in the hustle and bustle of Seoul.
However, unlike Jae-hee, Heung-soo tends to want to hide his true identity. A moment eventually leads to Heung-soo’s secret being revealed to Jae-hee.
They become very close friends, even agreeing to live together as roommates.
People around them find it hard to believe that Jae-hee and Heung-soo are just ordinary friends. Nevertheless, they continue to live their lives, even if they occasionally feel alienated.
On the other hand, Jae-hee and Heung-soo also explore life in Seoul as adults longing for romance.
Love in the Big City is adapted from a novel of the same name by Park Sang-young. The novel was a success upon its release, making it to the International Booker Prize list in 2022.
The film is directed by Lee Eon-hee, also known as E.oni. He is known for directing films such as …ing (2003), The Accidental Detective 2: In Action (2018), and The Killer’s Shopping List (2022).
Love in the Big City is Kim Go-eun’s latest film after starring in the hugely successful Exhuma. She has also starred in films such as Canola (2016), Tune in for Love (2019), and Hero (2022).
Meanwhile, Steve Noh is known for his roles in the hit series Pachinko (2022), as well as the dramas Curtain Call (2022) and Soundtrack #2 (2023).
