Memburu Pemangsa: When a Missing Children Investigation Leads to Something Far More Terrifying

Sinemaku Pictures is back with its latest film, Memburu Pemangsa, a genre-bending thriller that brings together horror, crime, investigative journalism, and action in one unsettling story.

Directed by Umay Shahab, the film stars Laura Basuki, Prilly Latuconsina, Taskya Namya, and Yasamin Jasem as four female journalists who find themselves investigating the disappearance of several children. What initially appears to be a disturbing criminal case soon takes a much darker turn, leading them toward a mysterious threat that defies logic—and possibly the supernatural.

So, what is Memburu Pemangsa really about?

The Story Behind Memburu Pemangsa

The story begins with seven children reported missing from the same area. The case becomes even more horrifying when four of them are discovered in a mutilated condition, while the remaining three are still nowhere to be found.

The investigation eventually catches the attention of Agnes, the editor-in-chief of Daily Wave News. But Agnes is hiding a secret of her own. She possesses supernatural abilities, yet has deliberately distanced herself from them following the death of her daughter.

Everything changes when Agnes witnesses a child being kidnapped right in front of her.

The incident pushes her back into an investigation, this time alongside three fellow journalists—Cia, Brina, and Anya. They are also assisted by Petra, a police officer who becomes involved in their search for the missing children.

At first, the group believes they are dealing with a conventional criminal case. But as their investigation progresses, the clues begin pointing toward a mysterious figure known as the “Predator.”

And there is something even more disturbing: the Predator may not be working alone.

Their investigation gradually takes them into the territory of demonology and supernatural forces, turning a missing-children case into a deadly battle for survival.

With danger closing in, Agnes and the other journalists are faced with an impossible choice: walk away to protect themselves, or continue hunting the Predator in the hope of saving the children who are still missing.
