Jakarta, November 28, 2024 — Imajinari presents the latest romance drama film by writer and director Meira Anastasia, Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea. Produced by Ernest Prakasa and Dipa Andika, the film stars Lutesha, Jerome Kurnia, Ganindra Bimo, Anya Geraldine, Dea Panendra, Rafly Altama, Sadha Triyudha, and two Korean actors, Sung Byoung-sook and Jeon Jin-sik.
“Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea” (CTSDK) follows the story of Dhea (Lutesha), who is currently in a relationship with Bimo (Ganindra Bimo). For her birthday, Bimo surprises Dhea with a trip to Korea, accompanied by her two friends, Kikan (Dea Panendra) and Tara (Anya Geraldine). However, an unexpected event occurs while in Seoul, leading Dhea to face a difficult decision when her high school first love, Julian (Jerome Kurnia), suddenly reappears in her life after a long disappearance.
Julian’s return not only causes Dhea to feel conflicted, but also strains her relationship with Bimo. Meanwhile, the friendship between Dhea, Kikan, and Tara is also at risk of falling apart due to the choices Dhea must make. Their journey through Seoul reveals deeper layers of their friendships and exposes each of them as they face their own personal struggles. Kikan is grappling with issues in her marriage, while Tara is dealing with a crisis involving infidelity rumors.
“Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea” presents a story that goes beyond a simple love triangle, offering multiple emotional layers that touch the heart. It serves as a reminder that sometimes, we don’t fully know the people closest to us.
Meira Anastasia, the writer and director of Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea, openly states that the film is a homage to Korean dramas that inspired her in crafting the story and developing the characters. The creative approach is also intensified with a treatment inspired by Korean drama style.
“From the writing stage, I already envisioned how each scene would be shot. We used some techniques typical of Korean dramas in this film. In terms of the story, fans of K-dramas will find familiar elements, such as the love triangle, the lead and second lead roles. In essence, this film employs a Korean drama approach but with an Indonesian film flavor,” said Meira Anastasia.
In this film, Lutesha, who is usually known for playing bold characters with eccentric appearances, will showcase a more calm and down-to-earth persona, one that is still charming and relatable — the kind of woman we might encounter in everyday life.
Meanwhile, Ganindra Bimo, who typically portrays tough characters in action films, will appear sweeter in this role. Jerome Kurnia portrays Julian, a man with a troubled past, burdened by unresolved issues.
“Julian is a lost soul. He is still searching for the meaning of the emptiness he feels. Eventually, he gets the chance to meet Dhea, whom Julian believes can fill the void inside him. Julian is someone who has lost many things he loved. With Dhea, he finds new hope,” said Jerome Kurnia, who plays Julian.
Producer Ernest Prakasa added, “Imajinari always strives to create ample space for new creators to grow. We aim to be a supporting system and a partner that accommodates original creative storytelling.”
“Imajinari always believes in the stories brought by our creators. We are confident that by providing space and full support to the creators, we can produce works that not only entertain but also carry a mature concept,” said Ernest Prakasa.
Through “Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea”, viewers will be invited to explore the beauty of Seoul while following the characters’ journeys of healing and discovering new hope. Watch Cinta Tak Seindah Drama Korea in theaters starting December 5, 2024!
