[Jakarta, November 22, 2024] – Committed to providing a unique experience for movie lovers, PT. After introducing the ScreenX format from South Korea’s CJ 4DPlex to Indonesia in 2017, CGV Cinemas has now officially opened the second-largest ScreenX auditorium in the world, located at CGV Grand Indonesia on the 8th floor, Auditorium 1. With enhanced features and a capacity of up to 460 seats, the ScreenX auditorium allows guests to enjoy a full cinematic experience with a 270-degree panoramic screen extending from the front to both sides of the auditorium (total screen size of 72.4 x 11 meters), using a silver screen and 4K laser projectors for an immersive viewing experience.
In addition to stunning visuals, the ScreenX Auditorium is equipped with Dolby Atmos technology, delivering the highest audio quality. This technology produces clear, detailed sound that moves dynamically throughout the auditorium. With more than 60 speakers placed in every corner and up to the ceiling, audiences are immersed in a truly dynamic audio experience, making every scene in the film feel more realistic.
Blending Technology and Comfort in One Auditorium
The ScreenX at Auditorium 1, CGV Grand Indonesia, is the first CGV auditorium to combine large-format screen technology, superior audio, and premium comfort. Viewers can choose from Regular seats, ergonomic Satin seats, or Gold Class seats with reclining features for maximum comfort. With its spacious capacity, front stage, and stunning lighting, the ScreenX Auditorium is also an ideal venue for creative events, meetings, or special gatherings.

The opening event featured a screening of the latest Universal Pictures Indonesia production, Wicked, in the ScreenX format. “We are thrilled that one of our films, Wicked, is the opening film for the ScreenX debut at CGV Grand Indonesia tonight. We are excited to bring more ScreenX content from Universal Studios next year to entertain movie lovers,” said Julius Daniel Suhakri, Head of Marketing at Universal Pictures Indonesia.
Popular films such as Kraven the Hunter, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will also be part of the upcoming ScreenX lineup, which moviegoers are eagerly awaiting for the end of the year.
