Jakarta, December 8 — Following the success of its first film, Rapi Films together with SL23, supported by Sky Media, Legacy Pictures, IDN Pictures, Nuon Digital Indonesia, and Magma Entertainment, releases the latest horror film, Qorin 2. Still directed by Ginanti Rona with a script written by Lele Laila, the film delivers gripping slasher horror while remaining highly relevant to current social issues.
Qorin 2 follows the story of Pak Makmur (Fedi Nuril), a scavenger whose son becomes a victim of bullying at his high school. Pak Makmur seeks justice so that his son can attend school safely. However, instead of addressing the incident, the school chooses to stay silent and protect its reputation.
Desperate, Pak Makmur begins searching for another way to find justice. He summons his qorin spirit to take revenge for all the mistreatment his son has endured. But the village grows darker as a poncho-wearing figure emerges from the shadows, targeting the lives of the villagers.
A New, Leveled-Up Story
Qorin 2 is produced by Susanti Dewi and Sunil Samtani, starring Fedi Nuril, Ali Fikry, Wavi Zihan, Muzakki Ramdhan, Seroja Hafiedz, Dimas Aditya, Indra Birowo, Epy Kusnandar, Sari Koeswoyo, Fitrie Rachmadhina, Gilang Devialdy, Vincentius Jeremhia, Ben Malaihollo, and Quentin Stanislavski.
“For audiences who haven’t watched the first film, Qorin 2 is still very easy to follow because the stories are not directly connected. The main thread between Qorin and Qorin 2 is simply how someone summons a qorin through a ritual. But what’s interesting in Qorin 2 is how its theme strongly relates to today’s situation—bullying in school environments,” said producer Sunil Samtani.
“At SL23, we wanted to elevate Qorin 2, aligning with our vision to create films that reflect current social realities,” added producer Susanti Dewi.
Director Ginanti Rona, who also directed the first Qorin, expressed her excitement about the sequel and her gratitude for being trusted again with a new story.
“Qorin 2 is far more intense than the first. Technically, we also leveled up—from production scale to artistry. Qorin 2 carries a deeper narrative, and I hope this film can both entertain and reflect today’s real events,” said Ginanti Rona.
A New Side of Fedi Nuril
Fedi Nuril, an actor rarely seen in horror films, said Qorin 2 interested him because of its depth and new challenges. Here, he plays a father seeking justice for his bullied son.
Fedi also sees a strong family dimension in the film—specifically the parent-child relationship. In the story, Fedi plays a single father raising his only son, Jaya (Ali Fikry), after the death of his wife.
“Pak Makmur is a father who wants justice when his son is bullied at school. But when he reports it, the school ignores him. That’s why he chooses to summon his qorin to get justice his own way,” said Fedi Nuril.
“The core story is really about family—the bond between parent and child. How far a parent will go to protect their child, even doing things they believe are necessary out of sheer desperation,” he added.
Ali Fikry Encourages Bullying Victims to Speak Up
In the midst of what Pak Makmur and Jaya face, only one person truly cares: Fitri, a young guidance counselor at the school. Played by Wavi Zihan, Fitri desperately wants to help Jaya but faces many obstacles.
“Fitri is a teacher who, deep inside, wants to help anyone in distress. But she faces lots of external pressure, preventing her from doing much. While trying to help her students, she’s confronted with worsening events in her village,” said Wavi.
Ali Fikry, who plays Jaya and shares many emotional scenes with Fedi Nuril, described Fedi as an extraordinary actor and said they discussed their roles and on-screen father-son dynamic often.
Ali admitted that Jaya is a heavy character to portray, as he is a victim of bullying.
“If you’re being bullied, please reach out to someone. There will always be someone willing to listen—family, friends, even teachers. Bullies often don’t realize how deep the wounds they cause can be. Qorin 2 reflects what’s happening today, and I hope it inspires courage to speak up, fight back, and ask for help,” Ali said.

Synopsis
Fitri (Wavi Zihan), a young guidance counselor, has long suspected that her student Jaya (Ali Fikry) is being bullied. Not only Fitri—Jaya’s father, Makmur (Fedi Nuril), had also asked the school for help but was ignored. This pushes Fitri to investigate the case herself by seeking witnesses and evidence from residents.
But her search leads her to another mystery in the village, where people start behaving not like themselves, but like their own qorin spirits. The deeper Fitri digs, the clearer the connection between the two cases becomes, and the more terrifying the events that follow.
