Lay Zhang canceled his concert in Indonesia at the end of June 2024. The concert titled Lay Zhang World Tour Grandline 4: Step 2024 Jakarta, which was supposed to take place at Hall 5 ICE BSD on June 29, was confirmed canceled.
iMe Indonesia as the promoter on Sunday (16/6) announced the cancellation of the musician’s concert whose full name is Zhang Yixing in Indonesia through uploads on social media without detailing further reasons behind the decision.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lay Zhang World Tour Grandline 4: Step 2024 Jakarta at ICE BSD scheduled for June 29 has unfortunately been canceled,” wrote iME Indonesia.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your attention.”
In the official statement, they also stated that they would refund fans who had purchased tickets. The refund process is available on the ticket sales platform and the form is sent via email.
Delivery of the refund form is said to take place starting Tuesday (6/18) and will only last 14 days. The promoter emphasized that refunds will not be processed if they exceed the specified time.
Jakarta, Indonesia should be one of the regions visited for Lay’s latest world tour, in addition to Nanjing, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Yokohama, Seoul, Chengdu, and Xi’an.
Separately, a video recently circulated showing the musician so exhausted that many fans wrote the message “Get well soon Lay” for the idol. There is no official information about this yet.
He recently released the album Step, which contains messages and hopes that fans and listeners of his latest music will continue to walk forward without restrictions. Lay also hopes that his first English album can be heard by more listeners.
“I want to use English to communicate with a wider audience, getting them interested in my music and C-pop,” Lay told Apple Music.
Step contains 10 songs, including Run Back to You, which is a collaboration with Lauv. There’s also Psychic, which has already been released as a single.
Lay Zhang made his musical debut in 2012 as a member of K-pop group EXO and its China-based subunit, EXO-M. The Chinese singer then made his solo debut in 2016 and achieved great success, topping the charts with his releases.
Apart from being a singer, Lay is a well-known actor who has starred in hit movies, such as No More Bets and The Island.
