“Na Willa” Arrives in Indonesian Cinemas on March 18, 2026: A Family Film That Brings Us Back to Childhood

Jakarta, March 10, 2026After winning the hearts of millions of Indonesian audiences with last year’s Eid release Jumbo, Visinema Studios returns this holiday season with a new family film titled Na Willa, set to premiere in Indonesian cinemas on March 18, 2026.

The film is written and directed by Ryan Adriandhy and produced by Anggia Kharisma and Novia Puspa Sarithe same creative trio behind the successful Jumbo.

A Film That Brings Back the Joy of Childhood

Through Na Willa, audiences are invited to rediscover the freedom and happiness of being a child. The film also marks Ryan Adriandhy’s first live-action directorial project, following his success in animation.

Warm, emotional, and imaginative, the film celebrates the magical world of childhood—a world where simple moments can feel extraordinary and full of wonder.

We were all once Na Willa. We all lived through childhood surrounded by family, friends, and the small neighborhood worlds that shaped us,” said Ryan Adriandhy.

According to him, things that seem trivial to adults can feel incredibly important to children. That universal feeling is what makes Na Willa resonate across generations.

A Nostalgic Journey to 1960s Indonesia

Set in Indonesia in the 1960s, the film captures the nostalgic atmosphere of childhood adventures.

Together with the Geng Krembangan, Na Willa takes audiences through narrow neighborhood alleys, bustling markets, and open fields where children play with kites and marbles.

In Na Willa’s imagination, even the simplest things become magical—like a milkfish with many eyes or a classic childhood curiosity: Is it true that someone is singing inside it?”

Through these imaginative details, the film brings viewers back to the simple joys and endless curiosity of childhood.

Adapted from a Beloved Novel

The film is adapted from the novel of the same title by Reda Gaudiamo.

To complement the film’s playful and joyful tone, Visinema once again collaborates with the music trio Laleilmanino to create the original soundtrack Sikilku Iso Muni.” The song plays an important role in bringing the film’s cheerful spirit both inside and outside the cinema.

A Cast from Multiple Generations

Na Willa features a diverse ensemble of child actors, rising talents, and established performers from Indonesia’s film industry. The cast includes:

Building a Strong Local IP

According to producer Anggia Kharisma, who also serves as Chief Content Officer of Visinema Studios, Na Willa is more than just a family film.

Family films are not just entertainment—they are emotional spaces where generations meet: children, parents, and even the child within ourselves,” she said.

Following the success of Jumbo, Visinema sees Na Willa as an important step in building strong and sustainable local intellectual property (IP) for Indonesia.

This vision is also shared by Herry B. Salim, CEO of Visinema Studios and the film’s executive producer. He emphasized that Indonesia’s film industry needs more stories that are family-friendly and capable of becoming lasting cultural memories.

A Warm Film for Families

Author Reda Gaudiamo expressed how touched she was by the film adaptation.

She hopes Na Willa can become a space where parents learn to listen more closely to their children while keeping the spirit of childhood alive within themselves.

I want parents to hear the voices of their children again, to recreate the happiness we once felt as kids and pass it on to them,” she said.
