“We warmly welcome the Korea Indonesia Film Festival at CGV as a bridge to strengthen Indonesia’s relationship and collaboration with Korea. Working together with the Korea Cultural Center, we hope this festival can serve as a platform for sustainable artistic and cultural exchange, providing an enjoyable experience for the audience,” said Mark Nah, CEO of CGV Indonesia.

The film adaptation from Korea, My Annoying Brother, will kick off the festival. It tells the story of Kemal, a former judo athlete who is now blind and must live with his brother, Jaya, a convict who eventually exploits Kemal’s condition to reduce his sentence. Although Kemal initially resists, a precious moment rekindles the bond and laughter between the siblings as it once was.
Producer and screenwriter Lala Timothy, along with director Dinna Jasanti, will also attend the press conference and the opening night of the Korea Indonesia Film Festival to support the screening of their film as one of the festival’s anticipated line-up.
Lala Timothy expressed, “We are very happy that My Annoying Brother has been chosen as the opening film at KIFF; it’s an honor for us. This film, which is an adaptation of the Korean movie of the same title, shows the cultural similarities between Indonesia and Korea. I hope the universal love between siblings can be enjoyed and warm the hearts of the audience.”
